The Therapist

Barbara Camelford qualified at the British School of Homeopathy and is a member of the Society of Homeopaths. She believes passionately in homeopathy and is even surprised herself at the scope of conditions that respond so well with homeopathy. She thinks it is a subject that has no end and as such is constantly updating her skills by attending seminars and meetings designed to bring new depth to the subject.

What is it?

Homeopathy energises the body to alleviate the symptoms that already exist and at the same time reduce the susceptibility of the body to further dis-ease, thus bringing health and comfort.

It is one of the most effective complementary treatments and is based on unique principles. It involves the Homeopath taking information from the patient regarding physical, emotional, mental and characteristic symptoms; what is happening now; what led up to it; what was happening when your symptoms started. A remedy is then found that matches those symptoms as closely as possible.

Remedies are made from natural substances, which if used in full strength would produce symptoms similar to those they are designed to treat. They are tested on human volunteers. A symptom caused by a remedy in a healthy person can cure a sick person suffering from similar symptoms.

This gives us the principle of Like Cures Like.

The substances are diluted many times over which enhances their healing properties. The extent of dilution gives the potency. This gives us the principle of
Less Cures More.

Homeopathy takes the energy from the diluted substance to activate the healing power of the body.

The principle of homeopathy can be applied to any condition because it is broken down into symptoms that are physical, mental or emotional.

The Consultation

The first consultation will take an hour to an hour and a half, or more. You will be asked questions regarding your health, character, background, likes and dislikes, medical and family history.

These details create a comprehensive picture of what makes you a unique person and provides the information to determine the correct remedy for you, from the many thousands available.

A series of consultations is normally recommended. Apart from an acute situation it is unrealistic to imagine that a single consultation is sufficient to bring you back to health. You should always expect to attend between 3 and 4 consultations. It has taken many years for your health to be where it is today and when you are asking the body to heal itself a little time is needed.

Your consultation is confidential and no details are released to anyone.

You will be embarking on a joint venture with your homeopath to improve your health and well-being.

A consultation can take place over the internet if you have a webcam and are able to talk with a conversation.

What will happen?

The remedy will stimulate your personal life-force to start improving your health in a manner that is individual to you. It is like setting a stone rolling down a hill. It might go directly to the bottom or take a few twists and turns, but it gets there in the end.

Charges

At present charges are £40 for an initial consultation and £30 for any follow up consultations for adults.

Appointments for children are £30 and £20 for follow up consultations.

Homeopathic remedies are normally included except for any special purchases.

Bush remedies are charged at £10 per bottle.

Postage of remedies charged at £1 if necessary to post them.
